WhatsApp edit recipients feature will make it easier to share photos and videos for a set purpose.

Instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly testing a feature to select recipients before sending a photo or video. WhatsApp is planning to redesign the interface that informs who the users are sending the media to. WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo has shared the same in one of its posts. They have mentioned that the app is planning the redesign to allow users to pick new recipients before sending the media in a future update.

Moreover, the instant messaging platform will also provide a feature where users will get an option to upload the media to their status update, even if they're sending the image, video, GIF to a WhatsApp chat. As per reports, the update is being tested for both Android as well as iOS version. However, there is no fixed timeline for the same, it seems. 

New update will allow users to share media in their status update while sending them to WhtasApp Chat

The users will see this option to share the media in their status update while selecting the recipient for sharing any media (image or video). This will make it easy for users to share the media in the Status when sending it to some contacts individually. However, the users can also avoid sharing the media in status updates if they don't want to share.

WABetaInfo even has a screenshot from the Android beta version of the update, which shows that the feature is under development for Android system, and the same update would also be added to a future beta version of WhatsApp for iOS.

While nothing is confirmed about the feature yet, it appears similar to the Snapchat feature where one image could be sent to individual users in their chat as well as uploaded in the status update at the same time. However, the main feature in Snapchat, is status update and sending it to users individually is an extension, but in WhatsApp, the main feature is sending the media to multiple individual chats and adding it to Status is an extension.

Moreover, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will allow group admins to control the flow of the content in WhatsApp group. Even the admin will be allowed to delete a message sent by the group members if they don't want other members to see it.
