The recent rumors around the upcoming Apple lineup have been a world of two opposites. When it comes to the iPhone 14 Pro models – the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max – there is a lot to be excited about. The iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to be adorned with the Apple A16 Bionic chipset, a 48MP camera as well as a pill shaped cutout to bid adieu to the notch. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 has.. err, none of them. While iPhone 14 Pro models have always been Apple's favorites, the neglect towards the iPhone 14 is probably unprecedented. So, should buyers give up on their cheap yet reliable iPhone model for this year? Not really. Read on to find out why.

It is true that the rumors so far around the standard model of iPhone 14 have not been excitement inducing. According to the leaks, the iPhone 14 is set to receive the Apple A15 Bionic chipset; the same one from the iPhone 13 lineup, no camera improvements and the notch will continue to make an appearance for the non-Pro models. From the looks of it, it appears that the iPhone 14 is just a rebranded iPhone 13. But in all these years of manufacturing smartphones, Apple has never not improved its devices from one generation to the next. So, why now? It could be that people are not looking at the full picture here.

It might be too early to give up on the iPhone 14

The standard flagship of iPhones have always been a popular unit to sell due to its cheaper price compared to the Pro models. When it comes to Apple, people value the status of the brand as much as the smartphone itself. That is the reason that Apple released the iPhone SE for those who want to experience the iPhone tag without spending a lot of money. And Apple knows this. This is why every year they have focused on improving the standard models to incentivize the customers to move on from the previous generation's smartphone. The iPhone 13 received a larger camera sensor to let in more light and take better pictures. It was also equipped with a bigger battery. The same can be true for the iPhone 14.

There are rumors about iPhone 14 getting more RAM than its predecessor as well as auto-focus mode on its front camera to make FaceTime calls better looking. But there will be more upgrades for the iPhone 14. And why we think so is because the leaks so far have been around the hardware. The software leaks always take more time as Apple tweaks things till the last second. And software upgrades are where Apple really makes their iPhone stand out from the rest. That is the reason that even with a 12MP camera, the iPhone 13 could take better pictures than most competitors.

Based on the Cupertino-based company's track record and treatment of the standard iPhone models, it might just be too early to forget about the iPhone 14. We'd recommend waiting for software and feature leaks to come out and then make up your mind.
