Galaxy A42 5G is Samsung’s cheapest 5G phone, check key features

Samsung has unveiled Galaxy A42 5G, touted as the company's cheapest 5G smartphone so far. The phone will go on sale later this year. Samsung has not disclosed the full specifications and price of the phone yet.

The latest addition to Samsung's popular Galaxy A-series comes with four rear cameras and a 6.6-inch OLED screen. The phone comes in black colour option.

The official render shows Galaxy A42 5G sporting a waterdrop-like notch on the front. The back panel houses a square-like camera module. The LED flash sits outside the module. The back panel is rather unique with four colour texture.

As said earlier, Samsung has not officially revealed the specifications. According to reports, the phone will have a 48-megapixel main sensor on the back. The setup will also feature a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The A42 5G is said to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 690 processor with at least 4GB of RAM. The phone is likely to have a 5,000mAh battery. You can expect Samsung to offer Galaxy A42 5G in 64GB and 128GB variants.

That said, Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will replace Galaxy A51 5G as the cheapest Samsung 5G phone. The Galaxy A51 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-O cutout. It runs on an octa-core processor with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also has four rear cameras including a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The phone runs on a 4,500mAh battery.

Separately, Samsung has also unveiled a Wireless Charger Trio which can power as many as three devices simultaneously. The new Wireless Charger Trio will go on sale very soon. According to Sammobile, it's going to cost 99 euro ( 8,500 approximately).
