Samsung has teased the Galaxy M52 5G in India for a while and it is finally here. Armed with a 5G chip this time, the successor to the popular Galaxy M51 starts at 29,999 for the base version. However, as part of the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale, the Galaxy M52 5G price will be set initially at 26,999, while the 8GB RAM version will cost 28,999.

Some of the biggest upgrades on the Galaxy M52 5G over the Galaxy M51 include a beefier Qualcomm chip, a faster 120Hz display, and a new design. The 7000mAh battery from the previous generation has been dropped in favour of a smaller 5000mAh battery this time. Samsung is offering the Galaxy M52 5G in two colours only: black and blue.

The biggest feature on the Galaxy M52 5G is the Snapdragon 778G chip. This Qualcomm midrange chip has been on the Motorola Edge 20 and the Realme GT Master Edition, showing promising performance potential. Samsung already uses this chip on the Galaxy A52s 5G in India. This chipset is paired to Samsung's OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11 out of the box.

Samsung says that the phone comes with support for 11 5G bands, which include the N1, N3, N5, N7, N8, N20, N28, N40, N41, N66, and N78 bands.

Unlike last year's Galaxy M51, the Galaxy M52 uses a smaller 5000mAh battery. The smaller battery has helped Samsung cut down the weight to 173 grams. Samsung says the phone supports up to 25W fast charging but you still get a 15W charging adapter in the box.

What remains unchanged though is the display, which still measures 6.7-inches and uses an AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and screen resolution of Full HD+. The display also has Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Samsung has left the rear cameras largely unchanged. There's only a triple camera setup this time, with the main camera using a 64-megapixel sensor. There's also an upgraded 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera as well as a 5-megapixel macro camera. The depth camera is gone. The front camera is rated at 32-megapixels.
