After a number of leaks and rumours, Google has finally announced the launch of its Pixel 5a. The new a-series Pixel smartphone comes with a bigger display and battery. In fact, it has the largest battery ever seen on a Pixel. The company has introduced the Pixel 5a after three months of officially confirming its presence. While you might be excited about the latest Pixel device, unfortunately, it isn't coming to India. Google is keeping it exclusive to the US and Japan.

The Google Pixel 5a features a 6.34-inch display. It is slightly bigger than the 6.2-inch display found on the Pixel 4a 5G. However, it doesn't support the fancy high refresh rates and is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is quite boring by recent standards. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The RAM is on the lesser side when compared to the Pixel 5, which comes with 8GB of RAM.

The Pixel 5a sports a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 12.2MP primary sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front lies an 8MP selfie shooter. You also get a physical fingerprint scanner at the rear of the device. Moreover, it comes with a 3.5mm audio jack. As for the battery, it packs a 4,680mAh cell, which is the largest-ever on a Pixel smartphone. It has support for 18W fast charging as well. The smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box.

If you are looking forward to purchasing the Pixel 5a in India, we have bad news for you. The device is exclusive to the US and Japanese markets. Hence, it is not launching in India. It costs $449, and will go on sale in the US and Japan starting August 26.
