Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+ and Porsche Design edition launched
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a 6.76-inch FHD+ flexible OLED "Horizon" display along with 90Hz refresh rate
While Apple became the first in the world to bring 5nm processor in iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, today Huawei joined the trend with its Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro with Kirin 9000. The handsets are not just known for the efficient processor but also for their camera capabilities among others.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a 6.76-inch FHD+ flexible OLED "Horizon" display along with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There’s a single punch hole at the top corner as well for selfie cameras.
At the back, there is a circular camera setup comprising of five sensors. One is the 1/1.28-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor along with a 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens, 5x periscope lens with 12-megapixel resolution and 10x hybrid zoom. There’s a 4,400mAh battery as well with 66W wired fast charging. You will get Android 10-based EMUI in this $1,418 (base model) handset.
The more powerful Mate 40 Pro+ has the same trip rear cameras as the Mate 40 Pro but in addition to a dual telephoto camera system with 20x hybrid zoom and 100x digital zoom. You get 12GB RAM and a ceramic back panel. This one has a dual punch hole cutouts at the front.
The handsets have a 13-megapixel front camera with a depth sensor.
Lastly, there was a Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS as well that comes in comes in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black, and a slightly different octagonal shape rear camera setup. You get 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and the price tag is EUR 2,300.
