iPhone 14 launch on horizon: Which iPhones to avoid, which one to buy in August 2022?
iPhone 14 launching soon: Which current iPhone models should you buy and which ones should you avoid now? Find out.
As the world prepares for a bunch of new iPhones this September, a new dilemma comes up for those who need to buy an iPhone in August 2022. After all, there will be brand new iPhones available in just a few weeks but your need for a new iPhone cannot wait – maybe you broke your old iPhone, or it was stolen, or you just got too bored with it. Whatever be the reason, if you have to buy an iPhone in August 2022, there is not much you can do other than buy one of the models on sale right now.
But which iPhone to buy? Is the iPhone 13 a good choice now given that it will oversee a price cut soon? Or should you get the old iPhone 11, which is available for cheap but is on the verge of getting phased out? This could be tough on you and we are here for help.
iPhone buying in August 2022: Which one to avoid
It goes without saying! The iPhone 13 is undoubtedly a great smartphone but it will get cheaper in a few weeks. Hence, paying extra for the iPhone 13 right now makes no sense at all. The same goes for the iPhone 13 Mini, which is also likely to see a mega reduction in price after the iPhone 14 launch.
The same goes for the iPhone 12. The launch of the iPhone 14 could oversee the iPhone 12 price drop and eventually replace the ageing iPhone 11 as the second entry-level iPhone after the iPhone SE. Great phone to buy usually but you should wait for the new prices to be announced.
The iPhone 11 has reached its end of life and there's no point in buying it. Apple usually kills an iPhone after 3 years of running and the iPhone 11 has met the criteria. Moreover, the dated LCD display and the old-ish design no longer justify its asking price.
iPhone SE 2020
You shouldn't buy the iPhone SE 2020 because Apple had discontinued it in March 2022. The iPhone SE 3 is the better model and you are going to lose out on 5G and better battery life with the iPhone SE 2020 model.
iPhones worth buying in August 2022
iPhone SE 3rd Gen
The announcement of the iPhone 14 will have no impact on the price of the iPhone SE 3, which means this is a safe buy. The iPhone SE has the same A15 chip and support for 5G as the iPhone 13 but the tiny display and sub-par battery life are things you need to watch out for.
iPhone 13 Pro
The iPhone 13 Pro is most likely to be discontinued and hence, buying it now makes sense. The iPhone 13 Pro is a superior variant of the iPhone 13, offering three nicer cameras, a smoother 120Hz refresh rate that can drop down to 10Hz when needed. The iPhone 13 Pro also has much better battery life. The iPhone 13 Pro Max offers the same experience with a bigger 6.7-inch screen and an industry-leading battery life.
