iPhone SE 3 effect: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 2022 is here! WOW!
iPhone SE 3 effect: Samsung quietly reveals Galaxy S20 FE 2022 edition in South Korea. Check all about it here.
After the iPhone SE 3, we expected several other brands to do something similar. And boy has its biggest rival done exactly that! Samsung, who is Apple's arch-nemesis in the world of smartphones, has quietly come with the new Galaxy S20 FE, which is also known as the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 2022 edition. The phone is available only in the market of South Korea at the moment, and Samsung has kept its mum over the phone's availability across the globe.
The Galaxy S20 FE 2022 edition is more akin to the Apple iPhone SE 3rd Gen, except for the fact that Samsung hasn't changed anything; at least on paper. With the iPhone SE 3rd Gen, Apple had at least upgraded the chipset and the glass material but Samsung does not change anything on the phone at all. The only change that consumers in the Korean market can witness is the lack of the AKG headphones, which originally came with the previous model. The report comes via Naver News and was spotted by GSMArena.
Galaxy S20 FE 2022 takes iPhone SE 3 formula to extreme
Hence, for someone familiar with the previous generation model, the Galaxy S20 FE 2022 edition continues to have the same Snapdragon 865 5G chip, the same 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, the same 4500mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging, and the same Galaxy S20-inspired design.
The phone also appears to have the same rear cameras, which consists of a 12MP main camera with OIS, another 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom camera. The front camera is said to have a 32MP camera sensor. The phone will be available in Cloud White, Cloud Lavender and Cloud Navy colours.
It now remains to be seen whether the Galaxy S20 FE 2022 makes it to other markets with the same lower price tag. Samsung has had launched mild updated versions of its older models in several markets in the past, mostly from the M series. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G, which was the last version launched in India in 2021, continues to sell at discounted prices for far less than what the new iPhone SE costs.
If this phone comes to India, it could upset the recently launched Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A73 5G models. Would you want to see the updated 2022 version of the Galaxy S20 FE in India?
