The iQOO Z6 is currently one of the most tempting options to consider in the sub- 20,000 space. However, it is definitely not more powerful than the iQOO Z5, which by virtue of its name should have been otherwise. It seems iQOO has different plans though. With the iQOO Z6 now taking care of the affordable smartphone space, iQOO is now planning to bring a more powerful “Pro” variant of the same. Yes, an iQOO Z6 Pro is apparently in the works.

Based on a leak report from 91Mobiles, it seems that an iQOO Z6 Pro is in the works that could end up in the sub-Rs. 30,000 space. In fact, its said that the iQOO Z6 Pro could cost Rs. 25,000 and bring some notable performance upgrades over the vanilla model. Instead of the Snapdragon 695 chip, iQOO is speculated to use the Snapdragon 778G chip, which is a very popular chipset in the sub- 30,000 space. The phone will be focused to deliver a better gaming experience.

iQOO Z6 Pro coming to India soon

The iQOO Z6 Pro with the Snapdragon 778G chip is said to have an AnTuTu score of 550000, which could be class leading. The report also suggests that the phone will get an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, which would make this the first Z series device form iQOO to feature this display tech. The phone could also come with 33W fast wired charging and may come with Android 12 out of the box.

While this sounds exciting, it may not really be much of upgrade over the iQOO Z5, which is currently on sale in the similar price bracket. The iQOO Z5 came out in October 2021 and uses the Snapdragon 778G chipset as well as a faster 44W FlashCharge technology. It seems that the iQOO Z6 Pro could be a mildly updated variant of the iQOO Z5, getting only the AMOLED display as the upgrade.

On the other hand, iQOO had also recently introduced a new colour variant for the iQOO 9 in India. Called the Phoenix Orange, this variant of the iQOO 9 can change its colours of the rear panel under the sunlight, similar to the Vivo V23 series devices.
