JioPhone Next software features

During the initial announcement of the device at the 44th Reliance AGM, company chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani had revealed that the JioPhone Next would come with special software features that would include a voice assistant, and built-in translation capabilities and text to speech for content on the screen. These are all important features for a market like India. Meanwhile, the company will also feature Snapchat-style lenses in the built-in camera. It is also likely to feature the Google Play Store and come with support for Android Go apps, according to previous leaks.

JioPhone Next hardware specifications (expected)

At the moment, very little is known about the hardware specifications on the JioPhone Next, as the company did not reveal much during the previous announcement. The company is calling it a fully-featured smartphone, and we can expect it to support 4G connectivity and a single rear-facing camera with a selfie shooter.

However, previous leaks are hinting at the possibility of a 64-bit Qualcomm QM215 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM (or a 3GB variant) and two 16GBand 32GB storage variants. The device is rumoured to come packing a 2,500mAh battery and could sport a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. However, we will only know the official specs of this smartphone when it is officially launched tomorrow.

JioPhone Next pricing (expected)

The cost of the JioPhone Next is currently unknown, but reports have placed the price under the 5,000 mark – some even suggesting that the device could be priced near the 3,499 mark. However, this is yet to be officially announced by Jio.

Similarly, reports have suggested that the company will provide users with EMI options for the smartphone which could bring the upfront price of the device down to an affordable level, with easy instalments which can be paid later on. Readers must not that official pricing, as well as payment options (if any) will be announced tomorrow when the JioPhone Next is launched in the country.
