Motorola Edge 20 Pro price revealed; set to rival iQOO 7, Realme GT

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has launched in India and the price undercuts most of its rivals. With the Edge 20 Pro, Motorola is competing in the flagship killer territory against the likes of iQOO 7, Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro, and Realme GT. There is only a single storage variant that costs ₹36,999 and is available in India with 8GB RAM and 128GB RAM. You can buy it in two colours -- Midnight Sky and Iridescent Cloud. The phone will go for pre-orders on October 3 on Flipkart.

The Edge 20 Pro is the same model as the global version and sits atop the Motorola Edge 20 that was launched a few weeks ago. The phone is largely based on the Edge 20, albeit with a different chipset and an enhanced zoom camera.

Motorola Edge 20 Pro features

The single biggest upgrade over the vanilla Edge 20 is the chipset. Motorola is using the Snapdragon 870 in the Edge 20 Pro, which isn't as powerful as the Snapdragon 888 but hangs around with the top class of Android smartphones. Accompanying this chipset is a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, which is class leading at this segment.

While the triple rear camera seems identical to that of the Edge 20, the telephoto camera gets a bigger upgrade. The 8-megapixel telephoto camera can zoom up to 5X, courtesy of its periscope lens arrangement. The 108-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera also promise higher photography output.

The battery stays put at 4500mAh and Motorola offers its 30W TurboPower fast charging solution. Users will get a USB-PD charger in the box with Type-C to Type-C cable.

The phone runs on Android 11 out of the box with certain Motorola customisation options baked in. The “Ready For” feature is back, allowing users to cast their devices on large screens and even create a computeresque desktop experience, either with a wire or using Miracast technology. The ThinkShield mobile security is also present.

Motorola has promised Android 12 and Android 13 updates along with two years of security support on the Edge 20 Pro.
