Nubia Red Magic 5S gaming phone launched: Check price, specs
Nubia Red Magic 5S comes with an improved cooling system, 144Hz display and Snapdragon 865 chipset.
Nubia has launched a new gaming smartphone in China. Nubia Red Magic 5S is the successor to the Red Magic 5G with an upgraded cooling system.
Nubia Red Magic 5S starts at CNY 3,799 ( ₹40,600 approx) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage which retails at CNY 4,399 ( ₹53,400 approx). Nubia Red Magic 5S with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage retails at CNY 4,999 ( ₹53,400 approx).
The Nubia Red Magic 5S is an upgrade over the Red Magic 5G but only with an improved cooling system. Nubia has also added a silver-plated thermal plate in the cooling system which now offers 43% more ventilation. The smartphone is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset as opposed to the Snapdragon 865+ SoC rumoured earlier.
Nubia Red Magic 5S features a 6.65-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the gaming phone runs Red Magic OS 3.0 based on Android 10. The smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W charging speed.
For photography, Red Magic 5S sports a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Up front, it has an 8-megapixel camera for selfies.
Nubia Red Magic 5S is available first in China, but it could expand to more markets in September. The smartphone will probably launch in India as well.
