Oppo launches a new budget phone with MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset

Oppo just gave a little boost to its budget line of smartphones by launching the Oppo A55. This device is available in China at CNY1,599 and is available via online retails including Tmall and Suning. There is no word on when or if this device will be coming to India or not.

As for the specs, you get a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and standard 60Hz refresh rate. Powering it is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset that includes Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2Ghz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. It also has 6GB RAM with 128GB inbuilt storage. However, you can also add microSD card slot.

As for the cameras, the Oppo A55 includes an 8-megapixel front sensor with f/2 aperture. At the back, you get a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture along with a couple of 2-megapixel f/2.4 sensor. It is possible to records videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30fps. Backing the entire device is a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging tech (10W).

Meanwhile, in India, Oppo Reno 5 just went on sale. The product is priced at 35,990 and is available in two colour options of blue and black. Some of the key specs include 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+ processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. At the back, there is a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel mono lens.

You also get 4,350mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
