Xiaomi's Redmi will launch the K40 series today. The smartphone series will debut with at least two models, Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro. The series will first arrive in China. It is likely to be available in other markets in the coming weeks.
Ahead of the official launch, the Redmi K40 series has appeared in multiple leaks. According to a recent official teaser, the Redmi K40 series will also double down on gaming features as it will come with an over 300Hz touch sampling rate. The reports suggest the company will launch with some gaming accessories. Also, it would come with improved vibration motors, Dolby support, and Hi-Res Audio support.
According to rumours, the Redmi K40 series will debut with a 6.8-inch OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The base Redmi K40 is rumoured to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The Pro version is rumoured to come with Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 888 processor. Furthermore, the Redmi K40 Pro will have a 5,000mAh battery. The vanilla version will have a smaller 4,5000mAh battery. We can expect both models to come with faster charging support. On the software front, Redmi K40 and K40 Pro are rumoured to come with MIUI 12. Other leaked specs are up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB on the Redmi K40 series.
