Samsung's latest budget phone Galaxy M01 Core comes with dark mode, 3,000mAh battery and more.
Samsung yesterday launched a new entry-level smartphone in India which is also its cheapest so far. Galaxy M01 Core runs on Google's Android Go platform with One UI layered on top.
Although a budget phone, Galaxy M01 Core offers features like dark mode, a power saving mode and ‘Smart Paste' as well. In India, Galaxy M01 Core competes with phones in the budget segment from brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Nokia and Infinix. Here, we'll take a look at what Samsung's cheapest smartphone offers as compared to Xiaomi's most affordable Redmi 8A Dual.
There's no notch or punch-hole camera on the Galaxy M01 Core. It still has the old bezels on top and bottom. The smartphone features a patterned texture at the rear, and it comes in three colour options of red, black and blue. On the Galaxy M01 Core you get a 5.3-inch HD+ display.
The Redmi 8A Dual offers a more premium look with a notched display and thin bezels. It's also available in three colours of blue, white and gray. Redmi 8A Dual has a HD+ display as well but a slightly bigger 6.22-inch screen.
Galaxy M01 Core is powered by MediaTek's 6739 processor with up to 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery claimed to last for 11 hours. Redmi 8A Dual runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 439 processor with up to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It has a bigger 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging speed.
Galaxy M01 Core sports an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There's a dual-camera setup on the Redmi 8A Dual with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, it has an 8-megapixel front camera.
Galaxy M01 Core is the more affordable phone with a price tag of ₹5,499. Its 2GB+32GB variant costs ₹6,499. Redmi 8A Dual starts at ₹7,499 for the base model and goes up to ₹8,999.
If we were to strictly look at the price there is quite a difference. But with a slightly more increased budget, Redmi 8A Dual has more to offer most of the key aspects.
