Samsung Galaxy Note 20 rumour round-up: Launch date, specs, camera, and more
Samsung is set to launch its next flagship series on August 5. Here’s what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 series.
Samsung's Galaxy Note series has been around for roughly a decade. The smartphone series laid the foundation for the modern large-screen phones, then categorised as phablets. Samsung has also stuck with the stylus on the Note series. Each year Galaxy Note phones come with new and advances feature. This year's Galaxy Note 20 is going to be no exception.
Galaxy Note 20 Release Date
Samsung is yet to officially announce the launch date for the Galaxy Note 20 series but rumours suggest it will take place on August 5. The launch date is pretty much in line with Samsung's annual launch timing for the Note series. Last year, the company had unveiled the Galaxy Note 10 on August 8. As per the tradition, Samsung usually announces the “Galaxy Unpacked” event a couple of weeks before the launch.
Galaxy Note 20 series
Last year Samsung launched multiple variants of Galaxy Note 10, giving it a series-like treatment. Samsung is expected to follow the same format this year and launch at least two versions. There's one minor change. Samsung is likely to launch an Ultra model in line with the Galaxy S20's Ultra.
Performance
Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 series is likely to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor. The company is also expected to introduce Exynos 992 processor. Samsung had drawn flak over the performance of the Exynos 990-powered Galaxy S20. The company soon introduced the Exynos 992 with improved performance. Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 series will also feature 5G connectivity.
The Ultra model could come with up to 16GB of RAM. There will be 12GB and lower RAM variants as well.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 series is likely to make a big improvement in the battery department. According to reports, Galaxy Note 20 will have a 4,300mAh battery. The Ultra variant will have a 4,500mAh battery.
Since the model is N976U, logically this is the “Plus”model, but if Samsung named it as Note20 Ultra, I don't think it's a good thing, which means that it will sell for a higher price, and the specification is just “Plus” I still prefer this to be a mistake, Note20+ is correct. pic.twitter.com/tyNJblIMwL

Camera
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is expected to borrow the camera from the Galaxy S20 series. According to reports, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra could come with a 108-megapixel camera, also available on the S20 Ultra. The setup could include 13-megapixel, 12-megapixel wide-angle, and a ToF sensor as well. Note 20 is likely to come with slightly inferior camera specifications.

Design and display
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is set to feature a 6.42-inch display with QHD+ resolution. The Ultra is expected to have a larger 6.87-inch QHD+ display. The phone will also have a 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of design, Galaxy Note 20 will not look very different from the last year's Note 10. The front is said to have a punch-hole camera on the top left centre. The back panel, however, may look different due to the rectangular camera module.
