The season of smartphone launches isn't over yet. While Samsung has launched its foldable display smartphones and Apple has launched its iPhone 13 series, we are still waiting for Google to launch its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. Meanwhile, it is now being revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to launch sometime in the first quarter of 2022.
According to tipster Steve H McFly, who goes as OnLeaks on Twitter, and Digits, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature a design that is quite similar to the company's Galaxy Note series. This means that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the top variant. Galaxy S22 series is also likely to include Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ smartphones. Word is that it is likely to include a curved-edge flat screen design with a punch-hole display that is placed in the middle of the screen. At the top, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature support for a hybrid slot that may house the SIM card and a microSD card.
At the bottom, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone will feature an S-Pen slot and an S-Pen that is stacked towards the left side of the phone. Towards the right of the SPen there is a single speaker slot that sits towards the left of the charging port. Another distinctive feature in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, compared to the older model, is the camera bump at the back of the phone. Samsung so far has opted for a vertically stacked rear camera setup. However, the images shared by the tipster show that in its Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone, Samsung will opt for a P-shaped rear camera module. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will sport a quad-rear camera setup with LED flash. Of these, three camera lenses will be stacked vertically on one side and the fourth camera and the LED flash will be placed in front of it in a P-like pattern.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is likely to come with a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with high refresh rate. It is likely to measure 163.2 x 77.9 x 8.9mm and have a thickness of 10.5mm.
Beyond this, the report says that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone could come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage space with 5,000mAh battery.
It is, however, uncertain whether Samsung has canceled its Galaxy Note series but if the reports are true, Samsung does seem to be heading towards merging its two flagship series into one. That said, Samsung hasn't divulged any details about its Galaxy S22 or its next-generation Galaxy Note series yet. So, we'll have to wait for sometime to say more about the company's upcoming smartphones.
