Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 with under-display camera goes official: Specs, price and more

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 at its biggest Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. It has also launched wearables including smartwatches and wireless earbuds.

Samsung has unveiled the next generation of foldables at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The company has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The smartphone is the first foldable device from Samsung to have support for a stylus and an under-display camera. It sports a refreshed design, which is similar to the predecessor but has been worked upon.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a 6.2-inch AMOLED cover display that supports 2262 x 832 pixels resolution, and a 10MP selfie shooter at the top. When you unfold the device, you are greeted with a 7.6-inch foldable AMOLED panel that supports a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels. It has a 4MP in-screen camera. Both the displays have a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The foldable smartphone packs a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W charging. In terms of optics, it sports a triple rear camera setup of 12MP each.

Samsung has also announced the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which features a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED display that offers 2640 x 1080 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. When folded, you'll get a 1.9-inch AMOLED screen that delivers 512 x 260 pixels resolution. While there is a 10MP selfie shooter, you also get a 12MP + 12MP dual rear camera setup. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 888 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while packing a 3,300mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Green colour options. It is now available now for preorder at a retail price of $1800 for 12GB/256GB in the US.
