Some iPhone 12 mini owners are reporting unresponsive lock screens
Apple’s smallest iPhone this year is giving some of its owners some trouble.
Apple's smallest and largest iPhones have recently gone on sale - the iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max and it seems like the former is in a spot of trouble.
Some early iPhone 12 Mini buyers have been reporting issues with their new handset. Users took to Reddit, MacRumours and Apple's forum to report that the iPhone 12 Mini's touchscreen is partly unresponsive at the lock screen,
The users were reportedly having trouble with launching the camera, the flashlight and even while swiping up to unlock the phone with their thumb. While other fingers work, this is not great news for a phone that's essentially been designed to be used one-handed.

A few users are of the opinion that the issue might be due to conduction or grounding. The problem appeared to be fixed in some cases when the phone is plugged in or is used without the case.
Apple has not commented on this as yet and it is not clear how “widespread” this problem might be. But with so many people complaining about it, it is clearly not an isolated incident. Whatever the reason might be for the issue, this is not good news for the iPhone many Apple fans see as a “standout model” in the new lineup.
