Oppo has showcased its X 2021 concept smartphone with rollable sliding display through renders. However, a French YouTuber seems to have got his hands on it already and has reviewed the entire device on YouTube. The 8-minute video not just shows the smartphone in all its glory but also the software changes when the handset is in regular mode and in extended screen mode. But nonetheless, the transition between the regular size and extended form factor seem smooth. The video shows the reviewer rolling out the screen multiple times by tapping on the side key.

The concept smartphone is seen running ColorOS, something that we have seen already in regular Oppo smartphones. However, we see that the icons reconfigure themselves when the display extends. Even the elements inside the browser change positions to make better use of the larger screen.

The YouTuber, however, confirms that the handset is a concept device and there is no price for it yet. He adds that there is no IP rating, which is understandable since it's a rollable screen slider smartphone and some areas might be exposed. Interestingly, the device doesn't have a front-facing camera. But since it is a concept device, Oppo might just bring the selfie camera in the final version that will go on retail.

Talking about slider screen phones, LG is not far behind. The company has already confirmed the arrival of its foldable handset and is also reportedly working on a rollable phone that has dual screens. This was confirmed recently by a patent.
