The Poco F3 is going to be a rebranded Redmi K40 for the global markets
The Redmi K40 series made their debut in China last week and ever since then there have been rumours doing the rounds about how one or more smartphones from that series might be released in the global market with the Poco branding. There was also a prior certification attested that, according to reports.
And the mystery of which device it might be has also been cleared up thanks to an US FCC certification. The Redmi K40 will be rebranded as the Poco F3 for global markets. This leads to speculations that there also might be a Poco F3 Pro which could be the rebranded Redmi K40 Pro or the Redmi K40 Pro+ - but there is no information about that yet.
The Poco F3, like the Redmi K40 is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC and will come with 5G support. It should come with 6GB to 12GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage that’s not expandable.
The Poco F3 is going to come with a triple camera on the back - a 48MP primary shooter, a 8MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro cam. For selfies there is a 20MP shooter on the front.
For power, there is a 4,520 mAh battery and a 33W fast charging support that can get the smartphone powered from 0% to a 100% in less than an hour.
There is going to be a 6.67-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen protected by the Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi K40 ran the Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top, so depending on when the Poco F3 launches, the Poco F3 might run the MIUI 12.5 at launch.
