Vivo could soon launch a MediaTek Helio G80-based phone

The upcoming Vivo phone will offer 4GB of RAM and Android 11 out-of-the-box.

Vivo is reportedly working on a new smartphone with MediaTek's Helio G80 processor. The smartphone with model number V2037 has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website, revealing some key features.

According to Gizmochina, Vivo V2037 is likely to be a budget or mid-range phone. The listing reveals the phone has 4GB of RAM and comes with Android 11 OS. As far as the benchmark scores go, it bagged 1823 point on single-core test and 5466 in the multi-core test.

The report points out that Vivo 2037 could be the company's first phone with MediaTek Helio G80 chip. It is worth noting that the likes of Xiaomi (Redmi 9) and Huawei (Y9a) have already launched phones with the same chipset.

We're likely to hear more about the Helio G80-based Vivo phones in the coming days. As of now, Vivo is prepping for the launch of X60 series.

According to the most recent leak, Vivo X60 Pro comes with a 6.56-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. It is said to run Samsung's Exynos 1080 processor coupled with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. It packs a 4,200mAh battery.

In the photography department, the quad-camera setup on the back is said to offer a combination of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel sensor, and two 13-megapixel sensors. On the front, it will have a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It will also most likely feature the gimbal camera we saw in the X50 series. On the software front, Vivo X60 Pro will run on OriginOS (based on Android 11) out-of-the-box.

Vivo X60 series will have at least two models, vanilla X60 model and X60 Pro. There are also rumours of Vivo working on an X60s version of the phone.
