Vivo X70 series Indian launch details revealed, to use ZEISS lens
Vivo has revealed the launch date of the Vivo X70 series flagships in India. The new flagships will launch on September 30.
It was long in the rumours and now, it is out. Vivo has confirmed launching its new flagship X70 series smartphones in India. The successor to the X60 series will be unveiled in India on September 30 at 12 noon via on online event. The company hasn't revealed the number of models in the pipeline or the expected prices yet. However, the focus seems to remain on the cameras majorly.
Similar to the X60 series launched earlier in the year, the X70 series is slated to get the ZEISS branded cameras. The X70 series is already available in the Chinese market and it is expected that the Indian variants will largely similar. There are two models in the Chinese lineup, a standard X70 and an X70 Pro.
Vivo X70 series launching in India
The Vivo X70 series spawns two models in the Chinese market. There's the standard Vivo X70 that is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, while the X70 Pro uses a Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset. The Indian variants are likely to choose stay with the Dimensity 1200 for the X70 and possibly a Snapdragon 870 for the X70 Pro.
Both the phones feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display on the Pro curved on the edges, and both models have a 32-megapixel selfie camera sitting in a centered punch-hole cutout.
The X70 has a Sony IMX766V 40-megapixel gimbal main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel portrait camera with 2x optical zoom. The X70 Pro also uses the Sony IMX766V sensor but it is rated at 50-megapixels. It also has a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and the third sensor is a 12-megapixel portrait camera with 2x optical zoom. The X70 Pro model also gains a fourth 8-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.
Vivo is using a custom Vivo V1 ISP chip on the X70 Pro. The phones also have a colour temperature sensor, a laser focus sensor, and a ZEISS T* coating.
