Vivo launches Y73s (Vivo)

Vivo has quietly launched a new mid-range smartphone with 5G connectivity. Called Vivo Y73s, the phone has launched in China for CNY 1,998, which is ₹21,700 approximately. Vivo Y73s comes in Silver Moon and Black Mirror colour options.

Vivo Y73s looks identical to some of the recently launched Vivo phones. The phone has a dewdrop-like notch on the front. The phone has thicker bezels, especially at the bottom. On the back, it has a long vertical camera setup that houses as many as three sensors. The panel also houses an LED flash.

The handset measures 161x74.04x7.73mm and weigh around 171 grams. Vivo Y73s has a 6.44-inch display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 90.1% screen-to-body ratio, Full HD+ resolution, and HDR10 support.

The triple-camera setup on the phone includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor coupled with 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 2-megapixel depth sensors. There is also a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

For performance, Vivo Y73s relies upon MediaTek 720 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. It runs on a 4,100mAh battery which is said to deliver up to 511 hours of standby time and 18.8 hours of talk time on VoLTE.

Vivo is also gearing up to launch a new smartphone series in India. The upcoming Vivo 20 series will debut on October 12 and could feature two new phones. The lineup is said to include V20, V20 Pro and V20 SE. The smartphone series offers a 44-megapixel selfie camera, triple rear cameras, and 33W fast charging support.

Vivo V20 is also likely to offer run Android 11 out-of-the-box with Funtouch OS on top. It's not confirmed yet if the Vivo V20 ships with Android 11 or it will receive the update in the future. The phone comes in two colour options of Midnight Jazz and Sunset Melody. Vivo V20 runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor. It also packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 33W FlashCharge.
