Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12X Pro are getting ready for launch? Based on the recent set of rumours emerging from China, Xiaomi is working on two new smartphones based on the Snapdragon 870 platform. No names have been revealed yet but given that the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro are already out, these could be related to the Xiaomi 12 series flagships.

The leak reveals details of two Xiaomi phones based on the Snapdragon 870 platform. While one of them is earmarked for Redmi, the other one will be sold as a Xiaomi device. The Xiaomi-branded model will get some luxurious touches while the Redmi version is expected to have a no-nonsense approach. You can check out the leaked specs listed below.

Xiaomi, Redmi working on two new smartphones

The version that Xiaomi would sell has some high-end features. The phone will be based on the Snapdragon 870 platform and will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with curved edges with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to rely on a 5000mAh battery. Charging techniques will include a 67W wired fast charging and 33W wireless charging.

As for the cameras, there could either be a 108-megapixel or a 50-megapixel primary camera. The front camera is expected to get a 20-megapixel sensor. The phone is also expected to feature Harmon Kardon speakers and an X-axis vibration motor. Seems like the Xiaomi 12 in the making.

On the other hand, the Redmi version will also have the Snapdragon 870 chip but will have a flat OLED display of 6.6-inches. The battery capacity remains the same at 5000mAh but the speakers will carry the JBL branding.

Given that the Xiaomi 11 series is towards the end of its lifecycle, it is safe to assume these phones will be a part of the Xiaomi 12 series models. However, these could also belong to a different series as Xiaomi's flagship models often debut with the latest Qualcomm flagship chip. Or, it is possible that Xiaomi is reserving the flagship Snapdragon 800 series chip for its Ultra model this year.

Globally, Xiaomi has already launched the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro with subtle upgrades over their predecessors.
