Xiaomi’s Mi 11 may not come with a charger in the box
Looks like smartphone companies are soon going to stop bundling free accessories such as power adapter with their premium phones.
Xiaomi may be the next smartphone company to remove the charger from the retail box of its flagship phone.
According to leaked images of the retail box of Mi 11, the company is not shipping the charger with the premium phone. Xiaomi is going to unveil the flagship, Mi 11 series, on December 28. The leaked images show a side-by-side comparison with the iPhone 12 box, revealing a little difference. Xiaomi's box, however, is slightly bigger than Apple's. Take a look.
The latest leak comes as multiple reports have claimed Samsung will not ship charger with its upcoming Galaxy S21 series. Interestingly, Samsung has deleted its social media post that ridiculed Apple for not offering a charger with the latest iPhone 12 series.
It is worth noting that Apple has said it will no longer bundle power adapter with its upcoming phones. Apple added that the move would help reduce the carbon emission as it aims to become a carbon-free company in the next few tears. Apart from the power adapter, Apple also didn't bundle earphones with the iPhone 12.
The move, however, has drawn sharp criticism from fans. Some even called out the company for not offering the new phones at lower prices despite skipping accessories with the phones.
I love how Apple touts removing headphones & charger from the iPhone box, for the environment, but they kept the price "the same!" #AppleEvent spin— Jason O'Grady ⚡️ (@JasonOGrady) October 13, 2020
As far as Mi 11 goes, a lot of details of the flagship series has hit the web. The last big revelation was that the smartphone series would come with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 7 or Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. So far, only the Galaxy Note 20 line of smartphones offer Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Another official teaser showed Mi 11's special mode for shooting low light videos, dubbed as video Night Mode. Already, the flagship series is confirmed to come with Qualcomm's top-end chip for 2021, Snapdragon 888.
