Xiaomi sold more than 1.5 million smartphones during Republic Day Sale

Xiaomi on Wednesday announced it had sold more than 1.5 million smartphones during the recent Republic Day sale. The company said that Mi India was rated number 1 selling smartphone brand in terms of both volume and value on Amazon India.

Apart from the sale on Amazon, Xiaomi ran sales on its devices on Mi.com, Mi Home, Mi Store, and other offline retail partners.

Redmi 9 Power emerged the number one selling smartphone on Amazon India in the sub- ₹10,000 segment. Redmi 9A and Redmi 9 were the best-selling phones on Amazon India. In the 5G category, its Mi 10i emerged the top-selling phone on Amazon.

Xiaomi had launched Redmi 9 Power in India last month. Available in India for a starting price of ₹10,999, the handset comes with a 6,000mAh battery and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 processor. It also offers up to 128GB of built-in storage.

The other highlight of the phone is the camera. On the back, it comes with 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

On the software front, Redmi 9 Power has MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box. Connectivity options on the Redmi 9 Power are dual 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also features an IR blaster.
