...rmed in 1928 by Paul and Joseph Galvin. A battery eliminator was the company's first product. The company has been working on radio communication equipment since its inception. The Motorola-designed transponder was used in America's first Moon exploration mission, Apollo, in 1969. Astronaut Neil Armstrong's message from the moon was transmitted over a Motorola-designed gadget.
Motorola also made wireless network equipment and home and broadcast network products like set-top boxes, digital video recorders, and high-definition television, among other things. In the mid-1990s, the company pioneered the concept of mobile phones, flip phones, and clam phones. It was also one of the first smartphone manufacturers to use Google's open-source Android operating system. The Motorola Droid was the first phone to run the Android operating system, and it was launched in 2009.
In 2009, Motorola released its first Android smartphone, and in 2011, it released its first Android tablet. Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions were split off into two separate public companies in 2011. In 2012, Google purchased Motorola Mobility, which included the handset division. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was sold to Lenovo in a deal with Google for $2.91 billion. Google kept a bulk of the Motorola Mobility patent portfolio, while Lenovo obtained a licence to the portfolio of patents and other intellectual property as part of the purchase.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion, which is the company’s latest offering, is priced at Rs. 21,499. It comes in two colours and runs on MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G processor. It has a 108 MP Quad Function Camera with UltraPixel technology.
Apart from smartphones, the company also sells smart TVs, refrigerators, washing machines and smart air conditioners.
