Apple Watch, MacBooks with redesigned form factor to launch in late 2021: Kuo
Kuo also said that the latest Apple Watch Series 6, Watch SE and silicon Macs are seeing good demand.
The next-gen Apple Watch and MacBooks will come with a redesigned form factor, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. These products will launch in the second half of 2021 which is in line with Apple's product timeline.
Kuo didn't detail exactly how the redesign will look like but it would be a big move for the Apple Watch and MacBook which hasn't seen a new look for years. In addition to redesigned form factor, the new Apple Watch is also said to offer “innovative health management functions", according to a report by 9to5Mac.
Kuo also said that Apple is seeing a strong demand for iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's a “better than expected” demand for these iPhone 12 models as compared to the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12.
Apple's first silicon Macs have also been well received. As for the new Apple silicon Macs, Kuo said these will also launch with a new form factor design. Kuo also said that demand for the new iPad Air has been “strong.” He added that the 2021 iPad lineup will feature mini-LED displays and offer 5G connectivity. The new iPads are also predicted to be compelling next year with these technologies.
Most of Apple's products are going towards an upward trajectory except for the AirPods as its shipments are lower than originally expected. Kuo even predicted a 5-10% decline year-over-year sales for the next six months. He added that the AirPods 3 launch has been delayed to April-June from early 2021.
