Have iPhone 5, iPhone 5c? WhatsApp has some very bad news for you
WhatsApp will not be accessible on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c after October 24! Check list.
WhatsApp will die soon on some models of Apple iPhones! The Meta-owned instant messaging app said it is killing off support for iPhones which are running on iOS 10 and iOS 11, the WhatsApp update tracker WaBetaInfo reported. This way, WhatsApp has indicated that iOS 12 and above is the minimum software requirement for iPhone users to operate WhatsApp. This means those using iPhone 5, iPhone 5c will not be able to use WhatsApp.
"WhatsApp is always used to dropping the support for some versions of Android and iOS, in order to let the company introduce certain functionality that may not work on old operating systems," WaBetaInfo report mentioned. And in this case, WhatsApp is now planning to end support for iPhones running on iOS 10, and iOS 11 over the coming months. With this, WhatsApp has started notifying iPhone users running on the non-acceptable software versions.
“Update to the latest version of iOS to continue using WhatsApp...WhatsApp will stop supporting this version of iOS after 24 Oct 2022,” the notification shared by the WabetaInfo reads. A year ago, a lot of users reported that WhatsApp was planning to end the support for iOS 10, but that never happened. Unfortunately, the news is now coming to reality! Due to some internal reasons, WhatsApp is now planning to drop support for certain iOS versions over the coming months: especially, iOS 10 and iOS 11!
Which iPhones will NO MORE be able to use WhatsApp?
All the iPhones currently running on iOS 10 or iOS 11 will stop getting access to WhatsApp. That means WhatsApp will no longer be compatible with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C as iOS 12 is not available on these smartphones. Even iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s will stop getting WhatsApp support, but there is relief for these users! They will just need to update to the available latest version of iOS on their iPhones. However, for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, it is the end of the road.
To update your iOS, go to the Settings and then General, and tap on Software Update to get the latest iOS version. The latest iPhone users such as iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11 or even others except iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c will be able to use WhatsApp without any worries.
