1/5 Why does WhatsApp compress pictures while sharing it? This happens because in the Settings of the application the photo upload quality is set on auto by default, and therefore, the quality of the image while sharing depends on several factors like the internet connection, size of the image, and more. The app therefore, looks to downsize the image, which affects its quality. (PTI)

If you have recently upgraded to a new smartphone, then you are automatically on the safe side of WhatsApp. However, if you are on an older smartphone, iPhone or Android phone, then you need to worry. This is so because the instant messaging app will no longer support some of the older smartphones including iPhones and Android phones. This usually happens when WhatsApp stops supporting older devices. For example, WhatsApp stopped support for two old iPhone models on October 24, 2022.

Now, the list is longer. The popular instant messaging app will no longer work on more than 49 smartphones this new year, GizChina reported. That means the listed smartphones will only support WhatsApp till December 31, 2022. After that, if your phone is on the list, then it is time to move to a new one! Else, you won't be able to enjoy WhatsApp services. WhatsApp says that “To keep up with the latest advances in tech, we routinely stop supporting older operating systems to point our resources to supporting the latest ones. If we stop supporting your operating system, you'll be notified and reminded a few times to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp."
