We have told you that Apple might be renaming iOS as iPhone OS, in line with iPad OS, and we have more confirmation now. A Twitter post shared by Max Weinbach once again mentions ‘iPhone OS' but that should be your only take away from the entire post. Do not fall for that short 14-second clip that's supposed to be the iPhone OS promo video.

The fake video shows that iOS 14 is basically going to be named iPhone OS and that's all. Oh, and there is going to be a new wallpaper.

“Here comes the next step for iOS” starts the video, then you see the words iPhone OS followed by the number 14. “With nothing new except one new wallpaper” goes the video. It's all fake of course.

Tipsters Jon Prosser and Weinbach had tweeted last week that iOS 14 was in for a name change. Weinbach also mentioned that the iPhone might be renamed to Apple Phone, but that remains to be seen.

Apple's iOS 14 or ‘iPhone OS' will likely be released later this year in September. We are expecting some new apps to debut in the OS version along with some changes in existing apps like Messages, Camera and more.
