Indian consumers are spoilt for choices in the budget smartphone segment. This space has seen Xiaomi's reign for quite some time now. But brands like Honor, Realme and Infinix have upped their game with more choices for consumers.

Here, we look at the top five smartphones available under 10,000 in India. All smartphones stand out for some key features while offering a decent performance at the same time.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Xiaomi's made a mark in the budget smartphone scene ever since the launch of Redmi Note 3 in 2016. The company continues to do so and the best offering by the company under this price mark is Redmi Note 5. Although more than half a year old, Redmi Note 5 is still a worthy choice with performance being its key trait.

The smartphone comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 processor, a 4,000mAh battery, and a 5.99-inch 18:9 Full HD+ display. The base model of Redmi Note 5 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is available at 9,999.

Xiaomi's selfie smartphone, Redmi Y2 features a 16-megapixel front camera with selfie-light. It also has a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel AI cameras at the rear. Redmi Y2 also runs Snapdragon 625 SoC under its hood backed by a 3,080mAh battery. It's 5.99-inch Full HD display offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. Redmi Y2 retails at 9,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

Realme 2
is the latest entrant in the market carrying a price tag of 8,990. The smartphone stands out for features like a notch display, a massive 4,230mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. Realme 2 also sports a dual-camera setup at the rear comprising of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Infinix Note 5
The highlight of Infinix Note 5 is its Android One badge which makes it ahead of other phones in terms of software. As part of Google's Android One programme, Infinix Note 5 will receive regular security updates and also one of the firsts to get Android OS upgrades. Infinix Note 5 also comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, a 4,500mAh battery, and dual 4G VoLTE. The smartphone is wrapped in a 2.5D curved glass body. It is priced at 9,999 and will be available starting August 31 exclusively via Flipkart.

Honor 7C
Honor 7C
doesn't have a flashy design like the other Honor smartphones but it comes with decent specifications and features. You can get Honor 7C with 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage at 9,999. Honor 7C offers a 5.99-inch HD IPS display, Snapdragon 450 processor, and a 3,000mAh battery. For photography, it sports a dual-camera setup of 13-megapixel plus 2-megapixel sensors. There's an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The smartphone's rear fingerprint sensor is integrated with Paytm's one-touch access for payments. Honor 7C also comes with 'Ride Mode' which snoozes notifications while riding on a two-wheeler.
