Amazon has upgraded its Echo Frames, they are no longer in beta, with better audio quality, longer battery life, more features like support for calendars and group messaging and new colours. The Alexa-equipped Echo Frames were introduced last year as Day 1 Edition products and were available only via invitation. The frames are now up for pre-orders and will start shipping on December 10, according to reports.

The upgraded Echo Frames are priced at $249.99 ( ₹18,539 approx) and are available for sale in the US. Their international availability is not known yet. If you are interested, they are available in three colours - Modern Tortoise, Horizon Blue and Classic Black.

Amazon has said that the battery life on the upgraded Echo Frames has improved and is now 40% longer. According to the listing, the Echo Frames can give you two hours of talk time and Alexa interactions or four hours of non-stop media playback on full charge.

An additional feature Amazon has added this time turns the frames off if they are placed upside down for three seconds - this will help in prolonging the battery life of the Echo Frames.

The Echo Frames promise richer, fuller sound through an improved open-ear technology, as per the listing and the volume can now be set up to automatically adjust at the beginning of the playback based on your listening profile and environmental noise levels.

You will be able to make calls, listen to podcasts, set reminders, add things to your to-do list, get the news, control smart home devices etc from the Echo Frames. The Echo Frames direct sound into your ears while minimising what others can hear. The Echo Frames also support Google Assistant and Siri from compatible devices.

The Echo Frames come with non-corrective lenses and are compatible with most prescription lenses.

Customers who had the Day 1 Edition Echo Frames will be able to upgrade their frames for $70 (roughly ₹5,191).

In another news, Amazon has discontinued the Echo Loop, the ring with Alexa support, but customers will continue to receive support and updates on it.
