Killjoy! No fast charging for Apple Watch Series 7 in India!

Apple has clarified that the Apple Watch Series 7 in India, Argentina and Vietnam will not support the fast charging feature. The Apple Watch Series 7 goes on sale today in India.

The Apple Watch Series 7 has gone on sale in India and there are a couple of good reasons for Apple fans to consider it. However, one of the star features on the Watch Series 7 is not going to make it to India – the fast charging features. Not only India, but Argentina and Vietnam will also miss out on the fast charging feature of the Apple Watch 7. Apple is yet to explain the reason behind this.

On its support page, Apple makes it clear that the Apple Watch 7 will not support the fast charging feature in India. That means Watch Series 7 users in India will miss out on the 0 to 80 percent battery refill, and instead have to wait longer at the sockets. Note that the Watch Series 7 cannot charge wirelessly from the iPhone or other chargers.

Apple Watch 7 skips fast charging in India

At the launch event last month, Apple said that the Watch Series 7 can do a 0-80 percent charge in 45 minutes. For this, users need to use the charger cable with USB-C in the box and use a certified USB-PC charger. If you have an Apple 18W, 20W, 29W, 30W, 61W, 87W, or 96W USB-C Power Adapter, you can charge the watch at full speeds.

Apple also says that you can charge it via any third-party charger that supports USB-PD of 5W or higher. The Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charging USB-C Cable can only fast charge the Apple Watch 7 at faster speeds; it does not support the older Watch Series 6, Watch SE, and previous Apple Watch models.

Apple is yet to comment on the reason behind India not getting the fast charging feature.

Despite the lack of fast charging in India, if the Watch Series 7 still catches your fancy, here's what you will have to pay for it. The Watch Series 7 GPS in Aluminium starts at ₹41,900 for the 41mm model while the LTE version of the same costs ₹50,900. The Apple Watch Series 7 GPS in 45mm costs ₹44,900, whereas the Cellular version of the same comes at ₹53,900.
