Redmi Smart Band to launch in India on September 8, here’s what we know so far
The launch details were announced by Xiaomi and the teaser indicates that the new smart band should come with a light-weight build, multiple strap colour options and a long battery life.
Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Smart Band in India on September 8 and the announcement shared on Twitter mentions that the launch is going to happen at 12 noon. The company shared a teaser with some details via the Redmi India Twitter handle yesterday.
This smart band is the first one from the company in India, following a Redmi Band that was launched in China earlier in April this year. It is highly possible that Xiaomi is bringing the same smart band to India as the Redmi Smart Band - we'll just have to wait a few days to find out.

Besides the little information in the tweet, we currently have no more details about key specs or potential prices right now. It is also not clear if Xiaomi is going to hold a live event or just share an announcement at 12 noon on September 8.

While the company has held virtual launch events for some of its recent products, it hasn't followed that for all the products choosing to just send out releases for some of them instead.
However, if we are to go by the details of the Redmi Band that was launched in China in April this year for CNY 99, the band should cost roughly ₹1,100 in India.
The limited details on the Redmi Smart Band event page on Xiaomi's India website indicates a focus on the fitness score thanks to the tagline - “What's Your Score?”. The page also drops a hint about the band coming with different strap colours (could be red, blue and green). There is also a hint about long-lasting battery life, heart rate monitoring, water resistance etc.
If the Redmi Smart Band that's going to be launched here is identical to the Redmi Band that was launched in China, key features should include five sports modes, sleep monitoring, optical heart rate sensor, a rectangular 1.08-inch colour display and 70 personalised watch faces. It might also come with a 14-day battery life promise.
