Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 series, along with the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 26th. But ahead of that, leaked specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series have surfaced, revealing some exciting improvements compared to its predecessor.

Display upgrades and enhanced design

The leaked specs, shared by renowned leaker SnoopyTech, indicated that the new Galaxy Watch 6 models will boast larger displays and slimmer bezels, potentially enhancing the overall user experience during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event.Unfortunately, the images of the alleged specs sheet have since been taken down, likely due to Samsung's efforts to clamp down on leaks.

Among the noteworthy modifications, it appears that the 40mm model will have a 1.31-inch OLED display, while the 44mm variant will have a 1.47-inch OLED display. This is a step up from the 1.2-inch and 1.4-inch displays found in the Galaxy Watch 5. Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic model may be available in 43mm and 47mm sizes, with the same enlarged display sizes.

The display resolutions are expected to see improvements as well. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 and 43mm Galaxy Watch 6 models are rumored to have resolutions of 432 x 432 pixels, while the 44mm and 47mm variants may feature 480 x 480 pixels. This represents an enhancement over the 396 x 396 and 450 x 450 resolutions found in the Galaxy Watch 5's 40mm and 44mm models, respectively.

Durable Sapphire Glass

Another exciting upgrade is the adoption of durable sapphire crystal glass screens for all Galaxy Watch 6 models. Previously, this premium feature was reserved only for the pricier Galaxy Watch 5 Pro variant.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Watch 6 is rumored to come equipped with the new Exynos W930 processor, promising faster performance compared to the Galaxy Watch 5's W920 chip. Additionally, RAM is expected to receive a boost to 2GB, up from 1.5GB in the Galaxy Watch 5. However, the storage capacity will likely remain the same at 16GB.

Improved Battery Life

Battery life might see some improvement too with larger batteries rumored for the Galaxy Watch 6, with capacities of 300mAh and 425mAh, compared to 276mAh and 397mAh in the Galaxy Watch 5 models. Nonetheless, it remains uncertain whether this will result in a significant increase in battery longevity considering the heightened specs.

In terms of design, leaked images suggest that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic could reintroduce a physical rotating bezel, while the standard Galaxy Watch 6 will likely retain its bezel-less appearance. This marks a reversal from the Galaxy Watch 5, which had completely removed the rotating bezel.
