Xiaomi's fitness bands have been one of the more affordable options on the market as far as fitness tracking is concerned. The last iteration of the Mi Band, the Mi Band 4, came with some notable upgrades that made it more like a smartwatch than just a fitness tracker. Now, the successor, the Mi Band 5 is expected to launch soon and this is indicated by the fact that the band has received certification in a few countries.

According to a recent report from Gizmochina, the Mi Band 5 has been certified in Taiwan and was spotted on the Taiwanese regulatory certification database NCC. The new certification does not mention the Mi Band 5 moniker. However, it does carry the model number XMSH10HM, as reported by a post on Mi Community.

Thus, the name itself is not confirmed and there are no details about the features or specs yet. The report does mention that the display on the band is a 1.2-inch one.

If this information is correct, this makes the alleged Mi Band 5 bigger in display size than the Mi Band 4. The report also mentions that the Mi Band 5 will come with an OLED panel. Speculations point towards a squarish dial, all-touchscreen display, bigger battery etc.

Xiaomi is also testing the Mi Band 4C in Taiwan, according to listings, and it looks like a rebranded Redmi Band that came with a 1.08-inch display and a 14-day battery life.

The Redmi Band and the Mi Band 5 are expected to launch in India soon.
