Battlegrounds Mobile India pre-registrations on Google Play Store cross 20 million

Battlegrounds Mobile India pre-registrations went live on the Google Play Store on May 18. It has so far received over 20 million pre-registrations.

Krafton today announced it has received over 20 million pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India. The company is yet to announce the launch date but the upcoming battle royale game has already received an overwhelming response. Krafton began pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India on May 18 on the Google Play Store.

On the first day, Krafton said it received 7.6 million pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India. Within two weeks the number quickly reached 20 million. On this milestone, CH Kim, CEO of Krafton, Inc. said, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Indian fans for their overwhelming response to the BATTLEGROUNDS IP first developed by me and my team in 2017. The BATTLEGROUNDS IP received love and acclaim from players worldwide, and KRAFTON will continue to build on the IP. That effort includes bringing amazing content to BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA and providing an incomparable battle royale experience to our players”.

Krafton is still tight-lipped on the launch date for Battlegrounds Mobile India but it is expected to take place on June 18. For now, Android users can still pre-register for Battlegrounds Mobile India on the Google Play Store and win these rewards - the Recon Mask, the Recon Outfit, Celebration Expert Title and 300 AG. Ahead of the launch, Krafton has been dropping teasers which reveal the game will be based on PUBG Mobile. It will also come with slight tweaks and customisations for Indian players, and the game will be available exclusively in India.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is also confirmed to feature different game modes that can be played with squads or one-on-one. It will have different maps developed using Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. The game will also feature India specific in-game events, outfits and features. Krafton will also release monthly content updates for Battlegrounds Mobile India, and the company has teased “world-class collaborations”. There are tournaments and leagues planned for Battlegrounds Mobile India with the first week of the game slated to feature events and exclusive outfits up for grabs.
