Google Nest Hub, smart displays get new features
The new set of features for Google Nest Hub and smart displays include alarm customisations along with a sunrise alarm, Google’s weather frog background, sticky notes, Family tab and more
Google has started rolling out a bunch of new features to Nest Hub and third-party Google Assistant smart displays. The new features have already been announced by Google, and are now available for these devices.
The new set of features include alarm customisations along with a sunrise alarm, Google’s weather frog background, sticky notes, Family tab and more, Android Police reported. You can now tell Google to not only set an alarm but also choose the tone it plays, days it repeats, its snooze duration, and morning routine timings.
There’s also a new sunrise alarm that mimics the actual sunrise with the display slowly getting bright. You can set the duration for the effect, add smart lights to it, and choose a tone for the sunrise alarm.
Google Nest Hub and smart display users can now choose the Google weather frog as their background display. You can do this by saying, “Hey Google, set up my photo frame,” or manually set it by going to Settings > Photo frame. The Google weather frog background will dim and brighten up according to the time of the day.
Google’s family-oriented features were announced last November, and are now widely available on smart displays. Among these are digital sticky notes that can be created using Google Assistant. Some “Hey Google, leave a family note that says defrost the pie,” or “Hey Google, leave a family note that says we’re out of wrapping paper.”Google also updated Family Bell with new sound effects as part of this update.
The new features have started appearing on smart displays, and should be available to all users soon.
