Windows 11 Download: Windows 11 release date is drawing near and users are worried whether they will be able to carry out the installation of the new Microsoft software update successfully on their PCs or laptops. After the excitement Microsoft has built up over the past two months since it unveiled its upcoming OS back in June, everyone concerned wants to do a Windows 11 update. With big upgrades to the system design and default themes, improved performance and security features as well as redesigned widgets and other features, Windows 11 promises to be the biggest update to the operating system since Microsoft released Windows 10 six years ago. There are significant benefits for users in Windows 11 that they would want access to.

Check this to know if Windows 11 download possible: We recently reported that Microsoft had decided to stick with its list of devices that would be officially supported for the Windows 11 upgrade, which includes computers running Intel’s Core 8th Generation processors or newer chipsets. While Microsoft also stated that it would not stop users from installing the Windows 11 update manually, most users would want to upgrade to the OS by using the built-in Windows Update feature. Now, Microsoft may soon use the same feature to inform users if their PC or laptop is compatible with Windows 11, according to a report by XDA. Yes, that is how users will know if they can download or install Windows 11.

Windows update not officially announced yet: Some users on Reddit who are part of the Windows Insider Program and are on the Release Preview Channel, are seeing a message on Windows Update that informs them that their PC is able to run Windows 11. Microsoft has not yet announced when exactly Windows 11 will be available for download, so users will have to simply wait until it is officially released. The message also states “Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you,” which suggests actual availability may vary per system.

It is worth noting that Windows 11 itself is only available on the Beta and the Dev (unstable) channels of the Windows Insider Program, while the Release Preview builds are yet to be released. If the reports that suggest Microsoft is planning to release Windows 11 in mid-October are true, users could see these builds released for testing in the Release Preview channel in the coming weeks. Users who have PCs that are not compatible with the Windows 11 update will still receive updates until 2025, and they will receive the Windows 10 21H2 update later this year, once Microsoft completes testing the build via the Windows Insider Program.
