Windows 11 poll: Half the users just don’t like the new look, but more than half to update

A new poll reveals the outlook users have towards Microsoft Windows 11. More than half of them are willing to upgrade to the new OS.

Windows 11 features a clean design with ts rounded corners with a centred Start menu and taskbar. While the latter can be customised to appear on the usual left-hand side, almost half the users polled said that they liked the new design. The new design isn't for everyone. However, more than half the Windows users who polled, want to upgrade to the new OS. These people like the changes and the UI in the current state, the number can only grow when the OS will be generally released.

According to a survey from Windows Report, more than half of the users who polled would actually update to Windows 11 right away, despite the wave of denial online. The report also goes on to reveal that a quarter of users don't pass the official test to install Windows 11. Their current systems aren't eligible for the update. Moreover, a third of respondents are willing to switch to a touch-based device, once Windows 11 gets out. Further, about 46 percent of Windows 7 users want to upgrade to a touch-based device. As per the report, Windows 11 convinced 17 percent of respondents become Microsoft insiders just to test it out sooner.

Windows 11 is moving to be more like macOS in terms of look and feel. While the widgets have been around for a while, they are now accessible directly from the taskbar. Moreover, you can personalise them with whatever you want. Microsoft is allowing you to run Android apps on Windows 11 too. They are installable from the new Microsoft Store. However, there is a catch. The company has partnered with Amazon to offer Android apps support. Hence, you will have to log in to your Amazon account to be able to download Android apps on Windows 11.

Mircosoft is also taking on Facetime as it integrates Microsoft Teams to Windows 11 in a bid to offer a one-stop solution in messaging and video calls for users. You can now access Teams directly from the Windows 11 taskbar.
