Windows 11 introduced a new design direction for the Windows OS, trying to flaunt a more modern look. We have been using Windows 11 for a while now and it largely seems to be designed keeping in mind smartphone users. The Start menu and Settings apps are two of the biggest visual overhauls, but Microsoft has been silently updating the rest of the legacy Windows elements to create a more consistent user experience. The latest update takes into focus the classic Shutdown dialog box.

Based on a latest report from Windows Latest, it is said that Microsoft has added a newly designed dialog box for the Shut Down menu. Yes, it is that window that appears when you press the “Alt + F4” keyboard combo. The changes aren't major and many of you may not even notice. The Windows 11 Build 25174 has got this new design and many of the fans are now annoyed with this change.

Windows 11 gets a new Shut Down menu

The new design of the Shut Down menu simply removes the Windows icon and keeps everything similar. The report says that a future update is likely to follow the new Windows 11 design theme, which means we could be seeing soon. The design currently looks similar to the Shut Down menu from macOS.

Soon after this news broke out, several fans took to the blogs to express their displeasure. “Quit with the fiddly design changes and complete the move away from the control panel. Restore features the users want. Dump any thought of a Windows 12 and concentrate on finishing Windows 11. Six years on and you are still fiddling with Windows 10, make a decision, make a plan Microsoft!,” said one user.

Another user said, “What's happening with Windows 11 is beyond explanation.

Tons and tons of man-hours going to waste for "features" no one asked for, while things that users really need (proved from the fact that they are the most requested features) like moving the darn taskbar and no combine, aren't being worked on.”

“Is there such little progress being made at Microsoft that a simple logo and icon removed from a dialog is considered news worthy? Also, this is not a redesign, it is simply a modified version of the current design. If it were to be even considered a redesign, Microsoft would have completely changed the design of the dialog like how they did with the 'Open with' dialog,” said another user.
