Apple iPhone 12 Mini is not as popular as we thought it would be; fails to get buyers
According to the interviews by Wave7 Research of carrier sales representatives, the iPhone 12 Mini is reportedly the least popular of all the iPhone 12 models in the US
When Apple launched the iPhone 12 Mini, there were speculations that other Android OEMs will soon follow the suit as there exists a market where people want a powerful yet compact smartphone. However, the latest report by Wave7 Research (via PCMag) might let Android OEMs hold their decisions to make compact smartphones right now.
According to the interviews by Wave7 Research of carrier sales representatives, the iPhone 12 Mini is reportedly the least popular of all the iPhone 12 models in the US. According to the report, the first month of sales accounted only for 4% to 5% at each of the major carriers.

On the other hand, the most popular model was the iPhone 12, which made up 24% to 33% of the sales at three major American carriers. That said, the iPhone 12 Mini, and the iPhone 12 are essentially the same smartphones with the only major differences being the screen size and the battery capacity. While the iPhone 12 Mini has a 5.4-inch OLED panel, the iPhone 12 comes with a 6.1-inch screen.
One of the minor differences here is that the smaller handset has a peak MagSafe charging speed of 12watt, while the iPhone 12 can charge at 15watt.

According to the research firm, the iPhone 12 Mini sales can still gain momentum by the end of this year as the holiday season begins.
But rest assured, the Android manufacturers might just be waiting to see how the iPhone 12 Mini performs in the market. If it doesn't, then we might not see compact smartphones making a return to anytime soon.
