Asus ROG Phone 3 India launch date confirmed for July 22

Asus has finally unveiled when it will be unveiling the third generation of its ROG Phone in India. The Taiwanese tech giant will be taking the wraps off its gaming smartphone on July 22 at 8.15PM IST. There won't be a physical event due to obvious reasons, but a stream will be showcased on the company's YouTube channel. The invite image sent to the media does not reveal much about the handset but does claim it as the ‘Ultimate Gaming Weapon', clearly indicating that it will feature high-end features and specifications. The image also showcases the smartphone in silhouette and a glowing ROG logo at the back, something we have seen in the previous iterations as well.

Although the firm has not yet mentioned any specifications, it has indeed confirmed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor. The invite came minutes after Qualcomm unveiled its Snapdragon 865+ chipset.

“ASUS is excited to once again offer users the best possible mobile gaming experience with the next generation ROG Phone 3, which will be powered by the new Snapdragon 865 Plus Mobile Platform,” said Bryan Chang, general manager of smartphone business unit, ASUS during the launch of the processor. “Full specifications for the ROG Phone 3 will be announced in the coming weeks, but the addition of the Snapdragon 865 Plus ensures that the overall performance will take yet another leap forward.”

In case you missed it, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ brings 10% increase (over SD865) in clocking speed of Kryo 585 CPU Prime core at 3.1GHz. It also brings Adreno 650 GPU with 10% faster graphics rendering. Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 is said to deliver Wi-Fi speeds for up to 3.6Gbps.

Some of the other specifications rumoured for the ROG Phone 3 are 12GB or 16GB RAM, 6000mAH battery and a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel. As for the storage, you can get 512GB inbuilt space.
