Huawei P50 tipped to feature 200x digital zoom, upto 120Hz refresh rate screen

The tester mentions that these handsets will use Leica lenses at the back and the imaging system might be similar to that of the Huawei Mate 40.

Some new details about Huawei's upcoming flagship camera smartphone P50 series, has been revealed by a Weibo blogger (via Gizchina). Claiming to be a “company internal tester” the user has stated that the regular version of Huawei P50 will be using a 90Hz refresh rate screen while the higher-end version may come with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Also mentioned is that these handsets might feature Kirin 9000 and 9000e chipsets, which are also the company's latest with the 5nm process. The Huawei P50 series might not be an all screen device and will have a punch hole on top to incorporate the single front-facing camera. 

Talking more about the cameras, the tester mentions that these handsets will use Leica lenses at the back and the imaging system might be similar to that of the Huawei Mate 40. What's interesting here is that the ‘Space Zoom' tech might be increased this time by up to 200x.

According to the blogger, the regular model can support 66watt wired fast charging, along with 50watt wireless fast charging. However, Huawei is also considering the inclusion of 135watt fast charging for its handsets. The final decision has not been made. 

Powering the software will be company's own HarmonyOS 2.0. This particular variant is set to come only in China. The global version might still feature Android based EMUI OS.

Some other claims made around the handset is that it will feature four speakers for stereo effect, along with an upgraded vibration motor. The company has not yet revealed the launch date of this smartphone series.

Based on some previous rumors and leaks, the P50 series is may include three handsets – P50, P50 Plus and P50 Pro. While the base model is said to have a 6.1-inch screen size, the middle and top variants are said to come with 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch screen sizes. We have also seen some alleged renders of the handset in the past few weeks.
