The iPhone 13 is stronger than ever, said Apple during its launch event almost three months ago. The Ceramic Shield display and the stronger stainless steel body on the Pro models promise a very durable iPhone experience. But how durable does all of that make the new iPhone? It seems that it is durable enough to survive a speeding Tesla and even have some revenge.

Twitter user @marvelwonderkat has shared photos of what appears to be an iPhone 13 Pro Max tearing up their Tesla vehicle. The photos show the iPhone 13 Pro Max piercing the Tesla's rear bumper while gaining some serious damage to the display. The shattered display may make you question the durability of the Ceramic Shield display but for a phone that survives a 70 mph (113 kph) hit, that's commendable.

iPhone 13 Pro Max takes on a Tesla

There's no mention of whether the iPhone 13 Pro Max works like a regular phone after that impact. The photos show tremendous damage to the upper half of the display along with some missing bits from the top. It appears to have a screen protector installed, which could have prevented the rest of the display from shattering.

“I thought it was a metal part of a car bouncing on the freeway. I also thought the loud sound I heard was it hitting my undercarriage. Stopped to Supercharge & this is what I found,” says the user in one of the subsequent replies.

While this iPhone 13 Pro Max may be a write-off now, it fought against the Tesla while giving up its life. The strong metal brick-like form of the iPhone put a hole in the rear bumper of the Tesla; a damage that may need a brand new bumper.

What does this incident mean for iPhone 13 series users? A couple of points actually.

  1. Yes, your iPhone 13 is strong enough to survive high-speed impacts but it always helps to put a case outdoors to minimize the damage in such an untoward incident.
  2. Never risk your precious iPhone or any other smartphone just to get a TikTok video, or an Instagram photo, especially on highways or train stations.
  3. If you see an iPhone 13 Pro Max hurling towards your vehicle at high speeds, brace for the impact and pray it does not take out your engine or other crucial components.
