Apple is going to launch the iPhone 13 series later this year and rumours and speculations have been doing the rounds for a while. One of the latest rumours suggest that Apple is going to be including a sensor-shift image stabilisation and autofocus camera capabilities to the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Apple had introduced the sensor-shift optical image stabilisation for the wide camera lens on the iPhone 12 Pro Max last year and is expected to bring it to the Pro model this year as well along with the Pro Max. During the iPhone 12 series' launch, Apple had mentioned that the sensor-shift image stabilisation tech can stabilise an image at more than 5,000 times/second.

This particular imaging technology moves the sensor, instead of the lens, to create a sharper image with better quality. This tech should also help improve low-light photography with the help of the bigger sensor.

This ‘speculation' comes courtesy a DigiTimes report that cites industry sources. The report adds that Apple is going to include sensor-shift OIS on both the wide and ultra-wide lens on the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Also, the wide-angle camera will also come with autofocus, according to reports. Rumours also have it that Apple is going to bring the wide lens with sensor-shift OIS to all the models on the iPhone 13 series.

In November last year, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted that the next iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models will come with improved ultra-wide cameras. Kuo had said that the ultra-wide cameras on the two high-end iPhone 12 models would be improved to “f/1.8, 6P (six-element lens) with autofocus, as against the iPhone 12's f/2.4, 5P (five-element lens) Ultra-Wide shooters with fixed focus”. Camera hardware aside, Apple's ProRAW support should also come to the iPhone 13 series.

Besides this, rumours have it that Apple might make the notch smaller on the iPhone 13 series and possibly introduce a 120Hz panel. Also, there are rumours about there might be a 1TB storage variant on the iPhone 13 line-up.
