LG Wing is here! LG Electronics on Monday unveiled its T-shaped dual-screen smartphone called the LG Wing via an online event in Seoul. The LG Wing is a part of the company’s Explorer Project device, which aims to discover yet unexplored usability concepts in an effort to expand the mobile industry.
The newly launched LG Wing is a dual-screen smartphone. However, unlike other dual-screen devices such as Microsoft Surface Duo, Motorola Razr and Samsung Galaxy Fold that fold like a notebook, the LG Wing has two displays one of which rotates at an angle of 90-degrees to give way to the second smaller display.
This T-shaped design enables the phone to be used in a variety of ways. For instance, you can watch a video on the main screen and access video controls on the second. Or you can see the images in your phone’s image gallery on the main screen and access the image controls on the smaller screen. Alternatively, you can use two different apps such as the camera and the alarm, a game, and the messages app, or a game and Google Maps simultaneously. The possibilities owing to the unique design of the LG Wing are virtually endless.
As far as the availability is concerned, the LG Wing will be available in South Korea starting next month in Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky colour variants, after which it will be made available in key markets in North America and Europe. There is no word on the pricing yet.
