Oppo phones set to change forever! ColorOS 12 launch date revealed

The Chinese smartphone maker today announced that it will unveil the global version of Android 12-based ColorOS 12 via an online event on October 11.

Google’s next-generation Android operating system is inching closer to launch. Ahead of the official launch of Android 12, Google has started rolling out the source code of the OS of the Android 11 successor to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The company also announced that it will start rolling out Android 12 to the Google Pixel smartphones in the coming weeks followed by smartphones by Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi later this year. As Google gears to roll out the Android 12 mobile operating system, Oppo has shared the launch date for ColorOS 12.

The Chinese smartphone maker today announced that it will unveil the global version of Android 12-based ColorOS 12 via an online event on October 11. Oppo will host the online event at 2:30PM on October 11 during which it will unveil the key details about the design and features of its upcoming ColorOS 12. In addition to that, Oppo will also unveil details about the performance of ColorOS 12 and its timeline of launch for its smartphone available across the globe. Ahead of its Android 12-based ColorOS 12 launch event, Oppo has already confirmed that when launched the ColorOS 12 will cover over 110 devices and around 150 million Oppo smartphone users across the world, which would make ColorOS 12 the fastest and the widest-reaching ColorOS update in the company’s history.

Oppo also said that it has already rolled out Android 12-based ColorOS 12 onto the Oppo Find X3 Pro smartphones in Malaysia and Indonesia.

This makes OPPO one of the first OEMs to release Android 12, now available on its Find X3 Pro devices in Malaysia and Indonesia. Oppo also said that it is announcing a major update policy, specifically for the Oppo devices that were launched from 2019 onwards. As a part of this policy change, Oppo said that it will guarantee three major Android updates for its flagship Find X series smartphones, two Android updates for its Reno smartphones and its F series smartphones and an Android update in some of its A-series smartphones. Oppo also said that, apart from this, it will also be providing four years of regular security patches for its Oppo Find X series smartphones, Oppo Reno smartphones and Oppo F series smartphones, and three years of regular security patches for its Oppo A series smartphones.
